Moyer makes history as Rockies even series with Padres…

The Rockies senior statesman Jamie Moyer with each start this season continues to make history as the oldest major league pitcher to start a game. Last night after 3 starts he made even more history, becoming the oldest pitcher to win a game ever in major league history.

The difference between this start and his previous two were that Moyer had run support this time out. Dexter Fowler got the ball rolling with a 2 run homer in the 3rd. And after 4 innings of work, Moyer had what seemed to be a comfortable 3-0 lead. As we all know, playing in Coors Field a 3-0 lead can never really be seen as comfortable and especially not with how the Rockies have played this defensively this season. The Rockies are second in the majors having committed 15 errors, Troy Tulowitzki being responsible for 6 of those. Congratulations again to Jamie Moyer on his record!

The Rockies(5-6) look to take the series tonight against San Diego(3-9) with Juan Nicasio(0-0, 6.52) going against Clayton Richard(1-0, 2.77) for the Padres. Gametime 6:40pm.
