Rockies win 6-3 over Nationals, end 4 game skid…
With all of the posturing and rhetoric going on in Washington over the last few days, weeks, months, years, however far back you want to take it. It was good to see Washington finally do something right for a change, like helping to put an end to the Rockies 4 game losing streak Thursday night.
OK, so the Rockies finally break their 4 game losing streak. But it was the Nationals, so there isnt really a whole lot to be excited about. Esmil Rogers had a decent outing after a rough first inning. Rogers pitched 5.2 innings, striking out 6 and walking 2 batters, earning his 5th win of the season. Offensively the Rockies were led by Troy Tulowitzki, who went 3 for 4 with a homerun in the in the 6th inning and also scoring 2 runs. Wigginton followed suit going 2 for 3 with an RBI and Chris Nelson going 2 for 4 with an RBI.
The Rockies desperately need these next 3 games. One to rebound from a 1-3 start to the current homestand already and second, to stop the continuous slide below .500 and third, to increase their chances of not having the attendance numbers decrease for the remainder of the season, despite the 35000+ paid attendance numbers they threw at us last night.
If you watched the game last night on ROOT Sports, you didnt see much of the game did you? From what I’ve heard and seen partially, was that they spent more time showing George Frazier and Drew Goodman, eating (again) as they for some odd reason like to broadcast from time to time, rather than show the game. The comments section over on coloradorockies.com seem to support my claim as well. Just because Dan O’Dowd has thrown in the towel on the season, doesnt mean that the broadcast team of Frazier and Goodman over at ROOT Sports, should be doing the same. You’re supposed to be professionals, so act like it. Stop your endless ramblings about things not related to Rockies baseball and stop showing the fans watch you guys fill your pieholes with at the same time! We deserve so much better.
