Rockies(22-18) @ Phillies(25-16) Preview…

The Rockies begin a two game series against the Phillies, part of a 5 game road trip before their return to Coors Field. The Rockies overall record against the Phillies is 60-76. Their overall road record in the City of Brotherly Love, 29-42, including a 9-15 record at Citizens Bank Park, since it’s opening in 2004.

The Rockies come into this series at as good a time as any. The Rox were swept in 2010 (0-4) at Citizens Bank, but are catching the Phillies in the midst of a current 4 game losing streak. The Phillies have been outscored 13-7 in those 4 games. Though the Phils were 6-3 during their last homestand. The Rockies on the other hand have won their last two games, outscoring the Giants 12-7. These were 2 much needed wins as the Rockies lost 4 of 6 from the Padres and Mets in the two previous series.

PLACIDO POLANCO – 3 for 14 in his last 5 games, with 1 RBI.

CARLOS GONZALEZ – 8 RBIs in last 5 games(5 RBIs in last 2).

TROY TULOWITZKI – 7 for 21 in last 5 games, with 8 RBIs.

TODD HELTON – 6 for 15, last 5 games with 2 HRs.


TY WIGGINTON – 3 for 16 in last 2 series, with 4 strikeouts.
