Iannetta, Fowler guide Rockies back to win column…
I am not one to usually admit this but for one night the Tarheels got the better of the Blue Devils. Chris Iannetta(North Carolina) got the better of the Mets starting pitcher Chris Capuano(Duke). Iannetta went 2 for 3, scoring 2 runs. Chris Iannetta’s 2 extra base hits on the night were the difference in the 2-1 victory. Iannetta scored the Rockies only 2 runs on the night. One run came on a Dexter Fowler RBI single in the 5th and the second run on a solo shot by Iannetta in the 7th. Dexter Fowler who went 1 for 2 on the night, also drew 2 walks to go along with his RBI.
Jhoulys Chacin had another nice outing despite relinquishing 6 walks over 6 innings of work. Chacin only gave up 2 hits and struck out 5. Reynolds, Belisle and Betancourt followed Chacin, with Belisle getting his 3rd win on the season and Huston Street coming in the 9th inning to get his 12th save on the season.
The win tonight gave the Rockies their 19th on the season and their first win in the last 5 games, ending a 4 game losing streak. The Rockies are 5-0 on the season against the Mets.
