Rox drop home opener, umps miss game…

Two good things came out of yesterday’s season opener at Coors Field. Ubaldo Jimenez in not his best outing yesterday, left the game with a no decision and the return of the Rockies purple jerseys! The Rox havent sported the purple jerseys since the 2007 season. Other good things would be both Carlos Gonzalez and Seth Smith were both 3-6 at the plate. Todd Helton going 2-4 and a Jose Lopez homerun in the 6th inning.

The bad things that came out of the game were the Rockies going 3 for16 with runners in scoring position, leaving 12 men on base. Troy Tulowitzki went 0 for 5 and a couple of noticibly bad calls by the umpiring crew in the field.

One of the best things about baseball, is that the next day you get the opportunity to redeem yourself.  Jorge De La Rosa takes the hill tonight to get the Rockies back in the win column.
