Rox will try to split series after 6-4 loss…

After 15 games into the season I am not at all worried about the Rockies, who have gone 5-5 in their last 10 games, and dropping 2 of 3 to the Nationals after last night’s 6-4 loss. The Rockies swept the Nationals last season at Nationals Park, but this season the Nats have improved, but you wouldn’t tell it by the number of fans seen at the games in this series. There was just over 11000 at last night’s game as you can tell by this photo taken by a good friend of mine who is a Nationals fan from last night’s game with Troy Tulowitzki at the plate.

Jason Hammel was somewhat solid in his 7 innings of work, striking out 6, but in return allowing 4 runs along the way. The Nationals scored 2 runs in the bottom of the 8th inning off of Rafael Betancourt, who lasted 2/3 of an inning.

The Rockies look to rebound this afternoon with what should be a decent pitching matchup between Ubaldo Jimenez (3-0, 1.29) and Livan Hernandez (2-0, 0.00) going for the Nationals.
