Rox shore up the bullpen…

Tracy Ringolsby of Foxsports.com is reporting today that the Rockies have avoided arbitration with both Huston Street and Rafael Betancourt. Story here.

Street gets a 3 year deal worth $22 million with a 4th year option and Betancourt signing a 2 year deal worth a little over $7.5 million.

This in my opinion is certainly the biggest news of the offseason for the Rockies and their fans in what has been an otherwise somewhat slow offseason.

JUST ADDED – The Denver Post reports this afternoon that the Rockies have also signed Jason Hammel to a 1 year deal worth $1.9 million. Hammel had a record of 10-8 last season as a starter.

22 million is a lot of a closer. Keep up the good work. If you get a chance check out our NL West write up.
