Rockies still in freefall, lead 2 1/2…

There’s an old John Cougar Mellencamp song titled “Crumblin’ Down” that pefectly describes the Rockies right now in every aspect of the game these last 4 games. The pitching has crumbled, defense has crumbled, but no aspect has crumbled more than the offense. When the pitching had been not so up to par, the offense usually came through and provided a spark to win a game. Right now the Rockies simply cannot hit the ball or score runs. Having struck out 45 times and scoring just 8 runs over the last 4 games, while pitching and defense have given up 29 runs.

Ubaldo Jimenez lasted only 2 and 2/3 innings giving up 7 runs on 6 hits in last night’s game, despite striking out 6. Josh Fogg was well, his usual self last night, giving up 3 runs on 2 hits in 2 innings.

Hopefully the Rox can leave a little more than their hearts in San Francisco, like maybe a win.
