Rockies win 2 in a row, still lead by 1 game…

Ubaldo Jimenez strikes out 4 through 8 innings for his 13th win of the season. Seth Smith homers. Recent acquisition, Jason Giambi singles in 2 runs to break the tie. Yorvit Torrealba steals a base and has a 12 game hitting streak going while Franklin Morales gets the save. If I left out anything, I apologize, but last night game against the Mets was further proof that the Rockies have gotten some of their mojo back in their quest to make the playoffs.

The Rockies still maintain a one game lead over the Giants in the NL Wildcard race. The Giants shutout the Phillies 4-0  last night and will finish up that series before heading to Milwaukee for 3 games.

The Rockies go for the sweep today of the Mets with Jason Marquis (14-9, 3.60) on the hill facing Pat Misch (0-1, 3.41)
