Fresh Produce (scores from the farm) 8/27…

Pardon me for not having posted minor league scores in a couple of weeks. It’s not that I havent wanted to, somedays I’m only able to get a single post in.

ROUNDING THE BASES: Casper and Tri City were the only teams to earn victories yesterday. Asheville will play 2 today while starting pitching was a major problem at Colorado Springs and Tulsa.

CLASS AAA: SALT LAKE 10 @ COLORADO SPRINGS 2 – Esmil Rogers suffers his 5th lose of the season after giving up 10 earned runs in 1 and 1/3 innings. The SkySox relievers for the rest of the game held Salt Lake scoreless. Giambi went 0 for 2, drawing 2 walks.

CLASS AA: ARKANSAS 16 @ TULSA 7 – Keith Weiser only lasted 3 innings giving up 10 runs (3 earned) along with 10 hits. Weiser is 8-14 on the season. The Drillers also committed 4 errors.

CLASS A (ADVANCED): BAKERSFIELD 3 @ MODESTO 2 – DH Hector Gomez was the only Modesto player to manufacture 2 hits. He also scored the only run of the game for the Nuts.

CLASS A: GREENSBORO @ ASHEVILLE – Postponed due to rain.

CLASS A (SHORT SEASON): TRI CITY 8 @ YAKIMA 1 – 8 runs on 14 hits, Bo Bowman led the team with 3 RBIs.

CLASS A (ROOKIE): OREM 4 @ CASPER 5 – Casper with 12 hits in the game and the most important one came in the 10th inning, scoring the winning run. Chandler Laurent led the Ghosts with 2 RBIs going 4 for 5 at the plate.

Games on tap this weekend – The Colorado Springs SkySox continue at home this weekend their 5 games series against Salt Lake.

Tulsa finishes their at home series against Arkansas tonight then travel to face Northwest Arkansas for a 3 game series.

Modesto hopes to break their 3 game home losing streak as they continue their series against Modesto.

Asheville plays a double header tonight against Greensboro, then head off to Bowling Green for a 3 game series beginning Saturday.

The Dust Devils finish up their series in Yakima tonight then head home for a 3 game series against the Boise Hawks and the Ghosts begin their 3 game series at home the Ogden Raptors. Get out there and support your futures Rockies players.
