Rockies win, tie for wildcard lead…

The Rockies took advantage of the Cubs Carlos Zambrano not being able to make his scheduled start last night due to stiffness in his back. Ubaldo Jimenez evened his record to 9-9 after striking out 6 in 6 2/3 innings. Omar Quintanilla played solidly at second base in place of Clint Barmes, but Omar’s bat was only equal to Barmes’ recent batting slump. Quintanilla went 0 for 3 last night and was the only position player to not get a hit. Dexter Fowler led the way with 3 hits on a 3 for 5 night. Helton, Hawpe, and Iannetta each had 2 RBIs apiece. The Rockies win coupled with the Giants 5-10 loss to the Reds, ties the Rockies and Giants for the NL Wildcard lead.
