Rockies regain the lead…

The Rockies rebounded nicely tonight with an 8-2 victory to retake their 1 game lead over the Giants in the NL Wildcard race. Troy Tulowitzki paced the Rockies with a 5 RBI night on 3 for 4 hitting, including a 3 run homerun in the 4th. Tulo now leads the tam in homeruns with 18.

Jorge De La Rosa gets his 6th straight win to go 8-7 on the season. In his 7.1 innings DLR struck out 7 while only giving up 2 runs. Jhoulys Chacin saw his first action after being called up from Double A Tulsa earlier in the week. Chacin struck out 2 in the 9th inning.

Tomorrow’s matchup gives us Aaron Cook (9-3) vs Ryan Sadowski (2-2).

STAT OF THE GAME: 42201 were in attendance Saturday night, the largest non sellout game this season at Coors Field.

QUOTE OF THE GAME: “There’s no reason to throw a fastball 3-2 if you didn’t throw it 3-0,” Tulowitzki said. “That was my thinking up there. It worked out.”
