De La Rosa impressive in victory over D’backs…

In 7 innings giving up a single run and driving in 2 himself, Jorge De La Rosa sparked the Rockies to an impressive win over the D’backs to the tune of 10-6. De La Rosa evened his record to 7-7 on the season while striking out 6 and allowing only 1 walk.

On the offensive side the Rockies saw homeruns by Dexter Fowler in the 2nd and Chris Iannetta in the 5th. Fowler, Smith, De La Rosa and Tulowitzki each had 2 RBIs and the Rockies were 7 for 13 with runners in scoring position.

The worst part of the evening were that Joel Peralta and Manny Corpus both relinquished 5 earned run between them while Franklin Morales was perfect in his two-thirds of an inning. I would believe that we’ll see Morales be the set up guy now prior to us seeing Huston Street come in the games in the 9th inning.

Tonight Aaron Cook (9-3) will face Max Scherzer (5-6).
