Game 5 Recap Phillies @ Rockies…

What a struggle last night’s game was for Jorge De La Rosa and that is being nice and a bit of an understatement. The Phillies doubled up on the Rockies with a score of 8-4. De La Rosa lasted four and two-thirds innings, giving up 6 hits and 5 earned runs on 99 pitches. But the struggle wasn’t De La Rosa’s alone as the second half of the game the offense struggled, being shutout after the 5th inning.

What went right? Tulo got the Rockies out in front with a 2 run homerun in the 2nd inning, his third of the year. Atkins and Barmes both hit solo homeruns.

What went wrong? Pitching. The Phillies got 15 hits and scored 8 runs while the Rockies only amassed 4 hits. Spilborghs, Smith, Helton, and Torrealba go 0 for 15 at the plate. Helton and Smith striking out 5 times between them.
