Great win! And the fireworks werent so bad either…

Happy 4th of July America!

The Rockies have now won 3 in a row and things seem to be falling into place, though I will probably have to bite my tongue should they prove me wrong over the next 3 games here at home. Mark Redman who is replacing Jeff Francis who is on the DL had a strong outing overall, despite not getting the win. The key thing in last night’s win is that the bullpen didnt falter for once. Another win and they’ll be over .500 for the homestand, but let’s not set our sights so low. I think the Rox can take 2 of the next 3 from the Marlins, maybe even sweep the series, and maybe just maybe more fans will come out to see the Rockies for more than just fireworks. It was great to hear the “Tulo” chant last night, like we heard alot during the playoffs and World Series last season. Speaking of the playoffs, you must admit last night’s game had alot of similarities of a playoff game. And with the way the Rockies were celebrating after Spilly’s 2 run single to win the game, you would’ve thought we’d just won the World Series. Hopefully this translates into more consistent play both here and on the road for the remainder of the season.

The Rox are sitting 3 games behind the Giants for third place and by the looks of the rest of the NL West, the eventual division winner will be lucky to be over .500 at the end of the season.

I cant say that there were a lot of Marlins fans in attendance last night, though I did see a couple of fans dressed in Marlins gear.

In my opinion the game and the win clearly overshadowed the fireworks celebration at the end of the game, let’s hope it continues tonight.
