blogging Colorado Rockies baseball…

Condition Critical…

This is a do or die week for the Rockies. This is the week where they can make or break their season. The Dodgers and Padres come into Coors Field currently 4.5 and 5.5 games in front of the Rockies. The Rockies come home off a disappointing 5-5 road trip, though not as bad as the previous 1-9 road trip before the All-Star break, still they should’ve swept the Nationals instead of only winning only 1 of 4 in the series.

I didnt get to watch any of the series against the Nationals. It’s just not interesting to watch the Rox play a team that is barely good enough to beat a minor league team if not a high school team. Besides I was on a David Beckham watch, ok more like a Victoria Beckham watch Thursday night at the MLS All-Star game at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park.

There should be a fair number in Padres fans in town during the 3 game series. They do travel well believe it or not, but I do expect to see many more Dodgers fans for the weekend series. If there are any weird or unusual sightings, I’ll be sure to get a picture!

The Rox face soon to be hall of famer Greg Maddux (7-7, 4.17) tonight with Jeff Francis (10-5, 4.07) going for the Rockies. Hopefully the bats will be back in order tonight and throughout the homestand. The Padres have a major league worst batting average of .242 which should be lower after tonight with Francis on the mound. The Padres have lost 4 of their last 6, 3 of 4 which came to the woeful Phillies at Petco Park.
